My thanks for school’s fun day

• A WONDERFUL time was had by all at a Christmas lunch for pensioners at the Arts and Media School Islington on Friday.
We had a lovely dinner, drinks and mince pies. We were served by the children all the time we were there. They were extremely polite and so helpful.

The children put on some wonderful entertainment – violins, a singing group and a dance group. A girl aged just 13 sang a Shirley Bassey classic. She had such a powerful voice for her age. It brought tears to one’s eyes because it was so sincere.

A group staged a mock World War I battle dressed as soldiers. With camouflage and dimmed lights, it was really wonderful. A World War II veteran, George, talked about his exploits and memories. And to finish there were many prizes – boxes of chocs – in the free raffle.

An eventful day of fun, laughter and pleasure at what I am proud to say is the best school in Islington. I salute them all with grace. Thanking you for your kind attention to us all.
