CHILDREN have paid tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore after they were asked by their teachers to dress up as someone who they admire.

Anabelle Edwards Farmer, aged eight, and brother Thomas, who is six, were among several pupils from The Gower primary school, in Angel, to pick the Yorkshireman, who died earlier this month aged 100 after raising more than £30million for the NHS.

Annabelle said: “I chose Captain Sir Tom Moore because he’s inspiring and kind. I especially liked his saying ‘Tomorrow’s going to be a good day’, because if you are feeling low you know things will get better.”

Currently, only children of critical workers are attending the Gower, meaning most pupils from the Cynthia Street school took part in the dress-up day from home, sharing via Zoom.
