LONDON Metropolitan University chiefs have published plans for the £125million transformation of the Holloway Road campus.
The university wants to give the public access to a large courtyard space at the campus between Holloway Road and Benwell Road. The brutalist tower building will be refurbished and a new café will welcome non-students.
A theatre and exhibition space are planned.
The university is closing centres in Whitechapel and Moorgate, with students moving to the Holloway Road campus from September.
London Met vice-chancellor John Raftery said: “We want to strengthen our links with local people.”
