A WOMAN who last saw her cat 14 years ago believes her lost pet may still be alive after spotting a post on social media.

Apricot, a rescue cat, was one when he went missing from her home near Archway Road. But owner Clare Fischer has never given up hope that he may one day be found, and her hopes have risen after she saw a photo uploaded to Nextdoor about a mystery cat.

She said: “I can recognise him by the markings on his head. It’s the exact same pattern. All these years I have comforted myself by thinking that someone must surely have taken my little cat in. He was sitting on a sofa somewhere right now, happy and warm and loved.”

The post had asked if anybody knew who a cat photographed in Hargrave Road belonged to.

Ms Fischer is imploring her neighbours to keep an eye out, in the hope that she and Apricot may be reunited at long last. If you do spot the cat pictured above, Ms Fischer has asked that you give it some food – chicken breast or white fish – and phone her on 07817 109093.
