Police in Finsbury Park on Monday night after a man in his 20s was stabbed
SHOPKEEPERS have called for Finsbury Park to be closed at night and for more police patrols in the area following a stabbing in Seven Sisters Road.
A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital on Monday evening after suffering a “slash injury” to his face. His condition was not life-threatening.
Mohammed Yasin, from nearby Food City Express, said: “It is not good in this area. There are incidents happening all the time. People are often gathering in the park.
“If the park was shut at night and there were more police patrolling the area, maybe things would improve.”
A consultation has been launched with residents in Finsbury Park about safety issues in the area.
Arulappu Suthakar, from Figaro News, in Seven Sisters Road, said: “People go into the park at night and there seems to be lots of drug deals going on.”
Police said in a statement that enquiries into the circumstances of the attack “remain ongoing” and that there had so far been no arrests.
