LITTLE Simz has bagged best album prize at this year’s MOBO Awards.
The rapper, who grew up in Essex Road and went to Highbury Fields School, was named joint winner of the best album prize at this year’s MOBO Awards, along with Kilburn rapper Knucks, for her album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.
Presented at Wembley Arena on Wednesday, the awards celebrate the best of hip hop, grime, RnB/ Soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.
The judges said “both artists showed where British rap can go, both production-wise and lyrically”.
The award comes just over a month after Little Simz was named winner of the Mercury Prize for the same album, in which she explores the divisions between her public persona and private self.
