Barbara Lazzini
FRIENDS of a woman who died in a road collision need help to pay for her funeral.
Barbara Lazzini, who lived on New Orleans estate, was killed by a lorry in Hornsey Rise. She was described as “kind, generous, and loving”, and was well-known by neighbours in the area.
Ms Lazzini’s funeral is to be held on February 5, but her partner, Paul Maughan, remains in search of £1,200 to cover the costs, and an appeal for donations has been launched.
The pair first met more than two decades ago in a hostel, after Ms Lazzini arrived in the UK from her home town in Tuscany, Italy.

She worked in hospitality, childcare, dog-walking, and cleaning, but later struggled with her mental health and faced challenges accessing help due to the language barrier.
At the time of her passing, her neighbour Crystal said: “It’s sad because she’s one of these people who society forgot about.”
A cremation is due to take place at East Finchley crematorium at 10.15am on February 5, with a memorial service afterwards, at 2pm, at St Mary’s Church in Ashley Road.
