ARMED police officers descended on a Highbury street to handcuff a group of boys who were suspected of being in possession of a firearm, before it was later identified only as a BB gun.

No arrests were made after the stop and search in Leigh Road on Monday.

The police said that they had informed the school which the children attend who are now dealing with the issue. No arrests have been made.
