A MAN was seen waving a large knife or machete before entering a residential property in Holloway Road.

Police were called at around 11:20 am with reports that the suspect was hiding on the Loraine Estate.

Jessica Right, of Loraine Estate, said: “The police had big guns, pistols, metal bats. I have not seen something like that before. It was scary. We didn’t know whether it was a gun or a knife. It’s not something you want to see in the area.”

The man has now been arrested on suspicion of affray and is in custody.

No injuries were reported.
