Arrests after man’s body is found in suitcase left in woods

TWO men have been charged after the body of a man from Islington was found in a suitcase in Kent.

Dale Mundell, 34, was discovered near Borstal – a village on the Medway near Rochester. Families had been enjoying a teddy bear hunt in a wooded area when the grim find was made.

Police linked the case to a property more than 30 miles away in Wimbledon, south west London, where officers had attended the previous day over concerns about a man’s welfare.

Two men, both of the same address in Wimbledon, have now been charged in relation to the discovery.

Joshua Miller, 32 was charged with murder and preventing a lawful burial, while Jamie Cooper, 27, was charged with preventing a lawful burial.

The suspects appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday and were remanded in custody.

Police confirmed that Mr Mundell and the two arrested men were known to each other.

Detectives said that there enquiries were continuing and that anybody with further information should come forward

The two defendants are due to return to court on August 10 for a plea hearing.

Mr Mundell had been living in Islington and working in recruitment at a company based in Tottenham.
