MIKEL Arteta doesn’t have time to dwell on Arsenal’s humbling 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final as he tackles a mounting injury crisis.

No fewer than six of the Gunners’ first-teamers have withdrawn from international duty.

The Brazil Football Federation (CBF) have revealed that Gabriel Magalhaes will miss the friendlies against France and Croatia, which will take place in the United States, because of “pain in his right knee”.

Centre-back partner William Saliba will also miss the trip to the USA after being ruled out of France’s friendly games against Brazil and Colombia with an ankle issue.

And the defensive duo have been joined in the treatment room by Eberechi Eze. The midfielder missed the Carabao Cup final with a calf injury, and has now withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

And Leandro Trossard is out of the Belgium squad for their matches against the USA and Mexico with an unspecified injury.

It all only adds to Arteta’s growing selection headache with both Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber also sidelined.

There is hope that club captain Odegaard will be available for the Gunners’ FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton next Saturday, April 4, with Norway boss Stale Solbakken revealing: “Now it’s three weeks until Arsenal play again, or two-and-a-half weeks. I think it could be a goal for Martin to be in their squad then. It’s within reach.”
