As residents of Vorley and Macdonald roads we can speak for ourselves
Friday, 16th April 2021
• CAN I advise Kate Calvert of the Better Archway Forum that she does not speak for me and the other tenants and residents of Vorley and Macdonald roads when she talks about the new-build in our turnings, (Changing face of city sparks new homes fears, April 9).
She does not live on these roads and have to suffer the daily rat-running of buses, cars and lorries at all hours of the night. And day.
These are the same organisations, both Islington Council and the Better Archway Forum, that agreed to this road change as well as the redesigning of the Archway roundabout.
That worked out well with pedestrians almost being knocked down with cycles and e-scooters breaking the law.
Congratulations once again to Islington Council and the forum for installing at least 10 extra large wooden bins, disguised as plant pots, for anti-social people to dump their litter in.
Why is it that this council and the forum listen to the minority rather than the majority of the electorate especially the people who live in these roads?
Once again someone is attempting to talk for us when we can talk and protest for ourselves.
