Axing magazines in libraries goes too far

• FURTHER to James Snell’s letter (Library’s missing magazines, April 26), I would like to echo my disappointment that Islington Library no longer stocks magazines.

At a time of budget cuts, I can understand the withdrawal of publications that are alternatively available via the library’s online services (Pressreader and RBDigital), but not even retaining a much smaller selection of those that are not, such as Private Eye, is a big drop in the library’s utility and seems a step too far.
