POPULAR Barnsbury artist Melissa Scott-Miller enjoyed her second one-woman exhibition at the Chris Beetles gallery after her first show, in March, sold out.
Enjoying the “most prolific” painting period of her life since having children 32 years ago, mother-of-two Ms Scott-Miller presented 12 new paintings at last week’s show at the Mayfair gallery in Ryder Street.
“Having that exhibition earlier this year made me feel very encouraged and finding a gallery that is so supportive made me feel like its worth putting in more effort,” said Ms Scott-Miller, a member of the Royal Society of Painters. “I’m getting older and haven’t got time – I just feel like doing it,” she added.
The realism painter is well known in and around her Lonsdale Square home for setting up her painting station and settling in, day or night, to paint locally known sights in her area – but for this show she also began painting scenes around Russell Square.
