• IN all the furore about Highbury’s LTN one aspect of it has been overlooked. Each car journey not taken by able-bodied residents is part of the effort to reach net zero carbon by 2050.

It might seem a hair-shirt response, not to get in the car to go to the Highbury Barn shops. There’s an air of gritted teeth about walking there instead, perhaps.

But think how holier than thou you can feel by making that small contribution to keeping the world habitable for our descendants.
