Barbecues at Highbury Fields

• THE council’s proposal to confine the lighting of fires on Highbury Fields to the triangular area at the base of the Fields is flawed.

Smoke does not respect by-laws or white lines on the grass. The smoke will drift across the whole of the Fields, spreading its toxic content.

What is required is a by-law forbidding the lighting of fires on the Fields. This will protect the health of residents and visitors.
