Crouch Hill station plan

Plans for Crouch Hill Station House – before, left, and after

• IT is a shame that Crouch Hill Station House, a large family house and garden, has been unoccupied for years.

The site is now owned by offshore property developers who think it would be a splendid idea to build a block of flats in the garden.

My neighbour, a pottery studio, will have its windows blocked, the living quarters upstairs the same. These are children’s bedrooms. My house and patio will also be steeped in darkness.

I enclose two photographs, before and after, produced by lighting specialists that would be really funny if it wasn’t so sad.

These pictures, above, illustrate what “sensitive refurbishment” really means.
