Can no one address the residents’ concerns?
Friday, 4th December 2020
• AS residents of Goswell Road we can sympathise with the shocking treatment of Wedmore Street Estate residents trying to fight a “regeneration” project affecting their homes.
We have put up with a construction site opposite our flats for over a year where the Century Link building is being “renovated” by the same company as Wedmore Street – Willmott Dixon.
They have also been rude, dismissive and have shown no respect to residents, no social distancing during the pandemic, and whenever residents have complained to either them, Century Link, or Islington Council we are dismissed and basically told to put up or shut up!
It has been a living hell, especially over two lockdowns. They just don’t care, even when our neighbours who are NHS shift workers trying to sleep complained about the noise.
Like Wedmore Street the traffic and dangerous lorries are an accident waiting to happen. Is there no one in the council who can actually address local residents’ concerns in these situations? How is it that we are all just ignored? We need answers.
