Firefighters tackling the blaze on Lowther Road
FIRE crews stopped a fierce car blaze from spreading to a mental health care facility in Lower Holloway.
London Fire Brigade received 33 calls at around 11.30pm on Tuesday to the burning vehicle in Lowther Road.
Gary Squires, Islington borough commander, said crews from Islington and Holloway fire stations arrived within two-and-a-half minutes. The fire threatened to spread to the nearby Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust surgery, but thankfully only damaged a small part of the roof.
Mr Squires added: “Thanks to their speedy actions and professionalism the fire was prevented for spreading any further to the property.”
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
