Catholic schools’ missed opportunity
Friday, 4th August 2017
• IT is too little, too late for Roman Catholic schools to go it alone (Things can only get better for united RC schools, July 28). They had that opportunity about 30 years ago. They did not take it.
My impression at the time was that councils did not like the idea as they could control the schools, and RC schools would have to take any child regardless of religion or culture.
I know many Catholic parents could not get their children into RC schools even though they were regular church-goers. This is still happening throughout the country.
