• AFTER seeing a Julie Walters TV programme about a pet cemetery in Brynford, Flintshire, I made the trip the other week and it was sheer pleasure.

The pets have head­stones, and some of the words were very touching. There was even a chapel of rest, with mini-coffins, candles and piped music.

The cemetery, an excellently-run family business, showed love. You could feel it all around. To pensioners out there I say: “Just love your pets because of the wonderful happiness they bring.”
