Finsbury A Capella is on the lookout for new members [Hannah Brine]
A CHOIR based in Finsbury Park is looking for recruits.
Finsbury A Capella was founded as an offshoot of The Finsbury Park Singers by musical director Hannah Brine because of oversubscription.
Ms Brine said she had started Finsbury A Capella “for those who want a bit more of a challenge”, adding: “There is a little audition. You don’t have to be a soloist, but you should be able to hold your own in a smaller group.”
She said the choir’s musical variety was such that “you don’t know what kind of music you’re going to get. We’ve done folk songs, classical stuff, songs from musicals’… the Bee Gee’s How Deep Is Your Love?, a Bulgarian folk song.”
The group meet on Tuesday evenings at St John’s Highbury Vale Primary School for rehearsals. Membership is £100 for 10 sessions.
