Charities’ shops are being used as dumping grounds
Friday, 23rd April 2021
• AS the manager at the MIND mental health charity shop on Stroud Green Road, I would say that, as the Covid-19 lockdown is easing, and things are getting back to normal, we are being overwhelmed with donations.
That is a great thing if you are trying to raise money to help a good cause – but these days charities’ shops are being used as dumping grounds by the general public with what is left outside the shops when they are closed.
There are a clear signs asking that donations not be left unattended after hours or when the shop is closed. Any passer-by might go through the stuff and further mess is made.
