A primary school off Caledonian Road teamed up with a charity to give
out food packages while raising awareness of holiday hunger last week.

Give Back London (GBL), a charity working to provide gifts, food
packages and clothes for children, visited Copenhagen Primary School to
help out the youngsters.

GBL directors Chiney Foong and Ejiro Okosieme, (pictured), handed out
food packages to children as well as donations of books and toys.

Ms Foong said: “We wanted to provide food that was not only helpful to
the families but also making sure that we are addressing childhood obesity.”

Last year the council launched a voucher scheme to help the parents of
more than 8,500 children who are eligible for statutory free school
meals until Easter.

Headteacher Amardeep Panesar said: “It is great working with such
positive organisations who continue to put the future generation at the
heart of their work”

The event took place on April 11.
