• DATA published last week showed that 2016 was the hottest year since records began, and that the first 17 years of this century include the hottest 16 ever measured.

While our leaders are having to address daunting social and economic issues, we can’t allow them to take their eye off the ball in terms of climate change.

Many feel confused and powerless in the face of the complex challenges involved, but we can at least take measures to reduce the carbon footprint of our own lives, how we heat our homes, how we travel, how we eat, and so on.

But we also need to keep reminding our representatives at the Town Hall, at City Hall, at Westminster, that climate change matters to us too. And that we need and expect action.
