• AS a regular at Barnsbury Square Gardens, I welcome Annette Trickitt’s invitation to meet to discuss issues relating to Barnsbury Square. I would point out, however, that there are already a number of community-based organisations with the square at their heart, the Friends of Barnsbury Square Gardens, Barnsbury Square Residents’ Association and Barnsbury Square Users’ Group (Blame park’s problems on cuts and simple selfishness, February 10).

Surely it would be better to engage with these organisations in an open forum.

I therefore invite Ms Trickitt and anyone else with an interest in the square to join one of these excellent organisations and engage with the community.

For example, the Friends hold a regular open meeting in the park where residents and park users can ask questions and raise issues. We look forward to seeing you there.
