A WEBSITE asking for MP Jeremy Corbyn to run for Mayor of London has been launched.

The website www.jeremyforlondon.co.uk is not an official campaign launch, rather, a portal to a petition asking Mr Corbyn to run for mayor.

The website’s front page says: “Londoners want and deserve an independent candidate fighting for fairness, equality, and their priorities. Only Jeremy can get the job done.” It then lists several campaigning arguments to convince viewers that Mr Corbyn is a competent candidate.

Rumours have been swirling around Mr Corbyn possibly running for mayor for months.

A spokesperson for Mr Corbyn said: “Jeremy had no knowledge of this website. He is focused on his full-time job as the MP for Islington North.”
