LABOUR Party leader Sir Keir Starmer may continue to insist that Jeremy Corbyn cannot sit with the party’s MPs in the House of Commons – but he joined campaigners in Islington, cheering them on to victory.
The Islington North MP – who has had the parliamentary whip removed in an ongoing stand-off with Mr Starmer – joined the celebrations at the Sobell Centre on Friday as ward after ward returned Labour councillors.
Mr Corbyn had also been among the speakers at the party’s manifesto launch at the start of the campaign.
Mr Starmer has warned that Mr Corbyn currently would not be able to stand for Labour at the next general election.
