Council tax is so unfair

• NO surprise that council tax is rising (Govt cash cuts bring jobs losses and council tax rise, January 11).
A blanket tax applied to all whether they can afford it or not, it causes untold misery for a lot of people and is completely unfair on poor people.
I did laugh when the council claimed an underspend might be en route yet failed to mention the previous maximum council tax rise of last year. The council really does think the public is daft or has severe amnesia.
