New coronavirus guidance urges extra care on transport and in shops
Friday, 15th May 2020

FACE coverings should be worn on public transport and in some shops, according to new government coronavirus advice.
Officials say homemade coverings – rather than face masks reserved for health workers – are acceptable on buses, trains and in enclosed shops.
“As more people return to work, there will be more movement outside people’s immediate households,” the guidance said.
“This increased mobility means the government is now advising that people should aim to wear a face covering in enclosed spaces where social distancing is not always possible.”
