“GROWING together” was the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, with children at one school taking time
out of the busy school day to reflect on their goals and support networks.

Hargrave Park Primary School in Archway encouraged their children to get creative, transforming their support networks into “hot-air balloons” that keep them afloat and producing “well-being wells”.

A 2020 survey by the NHS found that one in six children experience a diagnosable mental health problem in the UK, up from one in nine in 2017, while many more young people struggle with challenges from bullying to bereavement.

Teacher Carla Jones said: “Developing positive mental health and supportive strategies is a priority for us as a school.”
