Trevelle Rowland
A MAN from Barnsbury has been convicted of murder after he drove his car into three men, killing one of them.
Trevelle Rowland was found guilty at Inner London Crown Court on Monday on counts of murder, dangerous driving, and attempted grievous bodily harm.
Detectives described him as an “extremely dangerous man” and a “devious liar”, who had tried to flee the country after committing the murder.
Rowland drove his car into Fergany Mvuezolo in March 2024 in East Ham after the pair had become involved in a disagreement outside a restaurant. Emergency crews arrived at 5am, but Mr Mvuezolo was found severely injured and was pronounced dead a short time later.
It was not the first time Rowland had used his car as a weapon, deploying the same technique to injure two security guards 10 months earlier, the Metropolitan Police said. That incident had remained unsolved until Rowland was apprehended at Heathrow Airport on March 24 2024 following a manhunt.
Detective Inspector Aytac Necati, who led the investigation, said: “Rowland is a devious liar. He misled police about the initial attack, in which he ran his car into a pair of security guards over a trivial dispute – only to go on to kill another man using the exact same method. Both of the incidents were captures on CCTV.”
He added: “We would like to express our sympathies to the family of Fergany Mvuezolo, and to Rowland’s two living victims. The defendant has left a trail of destruction in his wake.”
