Did they really want my vote?

• WHAT a quandary that was.

As at noon on April 30 I had received nothing from any of the political parties or their candidates.

The Tribune’s April 29 coverage told me what some of the policies were. But if they want my vote, and indeed if they really think people should get out and vote, the candidates should surely make efforts to get information about who they are and their policies to the people whose votes they are seeking.

I also like to know the contributions candidates have already made to their local communities. I have voted as I have done in every election for which I have been entitled. However, I do not feel I have been as informed as I should have been.
