The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography Life of the Day for Monday was racing tipster MacKay, Peter Carl, called Ras Prince Monolulu, (1881-1965), some time resident of Camden Town.

It’s available at: https://doi.org/10.1093/ref:odnb/76829 and readers may subscribe, free, to the ONDB Life of the Day. One random life, from the 60,000 biographies, is sent to subscribers by email every day.

Those with a Camden library card may access all the biographies, online, using their library card number.

Prince Monolulu added character to a drab Britain and the turf in the first six or so decades of the last century. He was 83 when he died in 1965 and had certainly made his mark.

Two public houses in London were named after him, not a tribute given to many.
