• THE hypocrisy of LTN opponents claiming they want a “cleaner, greener world” without changing their driving habits is staggering.

They object to less traffic being in LTNs because they believe it causes more traffic on main roads, which council evidence disproves, as shown by the Canonbury West trial results Canonbury West pre-consultation monitoring report (islington.gov.uk).

Their demand is to reduce traffic on main roads by increasing it on side roads. How on Earth is that making things “cleaner, greener and safer”? Well done to Cllr Rowena Champion and the council for their brave and far-sighted policy.
