‘Drug driving’ arrest after Finsbury Park crash

Surrounding streets closed off as medics treated injured pedestrian

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a car collided with a woman in Finsbury Park on Tuesday night.

Police were called to Seven Sisters Road, close to the junction with Isledon Road, at around 9pm. A large cordon closed off the surrounding streets as medics treated the woman, a pedestrian, at the scene for her injuries. They are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“A woman was later taken to hospital for further observations. The suspect has been released on bail pending further investigation.”

The London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “The first paramedic arrived in less than three minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre.”
