Festive fun at Christmas lights switch-ons!

Live performances and parties to welcome Xmas glow

BABY, it might be cold outside, but the first of the Christmas light switch-ons begin today (Friday)!

The Snowman himself, from the timeless festive classic by Raymond Briggs, will be putting in his coal eyes to make sure he can find the switch at 6.30pm today at Angel Central in Parkfield Street, Angel.

Live performances of songs from The Greatest Showman and Christmas classics will keep your fingers clicking while the King’s Head Theatre’s Beowulf panto stars will be telling you “there’s someone behind you!”

Tomorrow (Saturday), musicians from the Islington Festival of Music and Arts will be come together at 12.30pm and 2.30pm at Angel Central to perform their Christmas Classical Music Quartet.

Also tomorrow will be the “Glow in the Angel” Christmas party at Islington Green and Camden Passage, which is on between 12pm and 5pm.

Find Father Christmas hanging out with puppets on Sunday, between 12pm and 2pm, at Angel Central.

Friday, November 17, 5-7pm Enjoy performances from King’s Head Theatre’s Beowulf panto stars and local choirs and snap up a festive goody bag at Angel town centre.

Saturday, November 18, 12-5pm ‘Glow in the Angel’ seasonal spectacular in Islington Green and Camden Passage.

2-5pm For the lights switch-on, live music and free mince pies at Nag’s Head shopping centre.
Saturday, November 25, 1.30-4.30pm With Ms Santa, music and the lights switch-on at Fonthill Road, Finsbury Park.

Wednesday, November 29, 12-7pm For music and performances, lights switch-on, Christmas crafts and a festive market at Navigator Square, Archway.

Friday, December 1, 4-6pm For the lights switch-on, free mince pies and face-painting alongside a festive market at Whitecross Street.

Saturday, December 2, 12noon-3pm For festive music, face-painting and crafts, plus see the winner of this year’s Market Trader of the Year Award announced at Chapel Market.

Saturday, December 9, 1.30-4pm For the lights switch-on, live music and a festive market at Caledonian Road.
