IF you think you’ve got what it takes to be a fire cadet, Holloway Fire Station are looking for new recruits aged 13 to 17 to join their programme.

The cadets meet every Wednesday at the fire station and will be given a uniform and full PPE and will learn about fire and rescue services in the community, using real firefighting equipment.

As part of the training programme, they will put their own skills to the test and take part in local fundraisers. Cadets are often also invited to prestigious events, most recently the coronation.

Coordinator Simon Wright said: “If you’re a young person who is up for a challenge, wants to be part of something new and exciting, become a positive role model and achieve what you never thought possible, apply now.”
