A MAN was treated in hospital after breathing in smoke at a burning flat in Tufnell Park on Saturday.

The London Fire Brigade said 30 people had already left the block before crews arrived at the scene in Brecknock Road at around 11.15pm.

It took around an hour to bring the fire under control.

A third-floor flat was damaged, along with the balcony at the apartment above.

The cause is being investigated.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said people should try its “Home Fire Safety Checker” online tool “to make sure there are no hidden hazards in your home”, adding: “It only takes a few minutes to get tailored advice to keep yourself and loved ones safe from fire.”
