THREE months after she died in sudden and unexpected circumstances, the funeral of “the angel of Angel” Deborah Robinson has finally been set for next month, writes Charlotte Chambers.
Ms Robinson, who was known to many simply as Dee, left a community in shock after she passed away in September.
She was instantly recognisable as the woman who sat outside the Sainsbury’s in Liverpool Road each day.
Her funeral is now due to be held on December 8, starting outside the Angel Church in Mount Zion Hall, Chadwell Street, Angel, at 9.45am.
A procession is expected to take place and go past Sainsbury’s. After the service she will be cremated at Islington Crematorium in East Finchley.
Some people knew her as simply as the “smiling woman” and she would make friends with anyone who would stop to talk.
Following her death, almost £3,000 was raised by people donating to give her a send-off “she deserves”. Organiser Hayley Mould said: “I’m feeling relieved. It’s been so long and she’s been laying there all that time. She needed to be laid to rest.”
