• SO the City of London is strapped for cash and may have to cut back on Heath care? Another option would be cut back on daft schemes in the City.

Pay a visit to the toilets at Cinema 1 in the Barbican Centre. The previous Ladies and Gents have been converted into “gender neutral toilets”, one of them “with urinals and cubicles”, a bizarre open plan mix of male urinals and unisex cubicles.

Does the City of London / Barbican management not realise that it’s distressing for men to be on plain view of passing women when urinating and thus exposing themselves; and it must be distressing for women to be confronted with men urinating and thereby exposing themselves. Under any other circumstances women would be justified in calling the police.

The Barbican says it is “committed to providing a supportive, inclusive and flexible space for all our audiences and staff.” Whatever that politically correct gobbledygook means.
