A GIANT dinosaur has appeared in the grass of a park in King’s Cross in a new artwork by David Popa.

Created with natural pigments and biodegradable materials, the Tyrannosaurus Rex installation in Lewis Cubitt Park is part of a wider celebration of Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs, an immersive experience narrated by actor Damian Lewis now showing at Lightroom.

Environmentally friendly, the hand-sprayed artwork is designed to fade naturally over time and reimagines the dinosaur emerging from the Earth, echoing the show’s visuals.

Families can follow a dinosaur trail through the area with activities and surprises for children.

“My pieces are usually remote and ephemeral, so the chance for people to encounter it spontaneously in Lewis Cubitt Park adds a whole new energy,” said Mr Popa.

He added: “Like so many, I grew up in awe of dinosaurs.”

The exhibition runs until early November.
