A GROUP of primary school children who were surprised by two Arsenal players during their fencing lesson have made it into a special montage put together by the football club.

The lucky pupils were handpicked by teachers as a reward for their hard work at New North Academy Islington in Popham Road, Angel.

Footballers Vivianne Miedema and Stina Blackstenius visited the primary school last month as part of Arsenal’s charity arm, the Arsenal Foundation, which has been billed as “supporting supporters” by the football club.

As part of its drive to give back to the community, particularly in the wake of the pandemic, it has been visiting local businesses, schools and sporting organisations and has committed to donating £5 from the sale of every new kit to its charity.

The star strikers – who appeared out of nowhere as the fencing lesson got under way – signed children’s kits before getting into the cut and thrust of the session with Fence Club 43, who are based at the school.
