• I WAS sorry to read that a local café is to close. It will be a real loss to our neighbourhood.

It was a pleasant, airy place to enjoy a good cup of coffee and quality food, served by pleasant, friendly, staff.

The government should be helping small businesses to keep going; a way of doing so must be found or there’ll be nowhere to meet up with friends and neighbours.

We’ll all be the poorer for that.
