ARSENAL wore white shirts in their FA Cup win against Oxford United on Monday evening as part of the club’s #nomorered campaign against knife crime – and have unveiled a new mural as well.
The painting unveiled in Rosemary Gardens in De Beauvoir Town is part of the campaign launched last year to divert children and young adults away from violence through their engagement with sport.
As part of the campaign Arsenal and Adidas, working with Islington, are refurbishing two football pitches in the borough at the Harvist estate in Arsenal and King Square estate in Clerkenwell.
They are also offering free football tickets to watch Arsenal play to anyone who volunteers for their charity partners, including The Ben Kinsella Trust, Don’t Stab Your Future and the Copenhagen Youth Project. They have 10 partners in total.
Leader of Islington council Kaya Comer-Schwartz said: “The No More Red mural in Rosemary Gardens will act as a centrepiece for our community and demonstrate how important youth safety is for us all.”
