UNSTOPPABLE striker Alessia Russo has won Arsenal’s fan-voted Women’s Player of the Season award.
It comes after Russo enjoyed her best campaign in front of goal to date, finding the back of the net 24 times in 40 games in all competitions.
The highlight for Gooners came back in March when the formidable forward scored a hat-trick in the north London derby to help Arsenal beat Tottenham 5-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
It proved a record-breaking effort from Russo in more ways than one.
The 27-year-old set a personal goal-getting best in the Women’s Super League (WSL), scoring 13 goals to better the 12 that she scored in both 2024/25 and 2023/24. She also scored the most away goals in the division, banging in eight on the road.
Russo was pivotal in helping the Gunners finish second in the WSL behind champions Manchester City, securing a place in this coming season’s Women’s Champions League. Just when Arsenal needed her the most in a frantic race to get into Europe, Russo became the first player in the club’s history to score or assist in six consecutive away appearances in the WSL, hitting five goals and recording four 4 assists.
