The house in Canonbury where Ed Foursons experienced strange goings-on
WITH its eerie blood spatters and ghostly black mist, Ed Foursons knew from an early age that all was not what it seemed in his childhood home.
There was a presence, he suspected, in Canonbury – where he often got that feeling like “walking down the road and knowing someone was walking behind you”.
As a boy he lived in the house’s middle floor flat, but when he moved to flat beneath as an adult, things turned a little more sinister.
Now aged 67, and after leaving the area long ago, he wants to know if anyone else has experienced the “haunted house”.
Mr Foursons said: “Occasionally, I’d get the feeling that someone was in the room and they’d be walking up the room, I’d feel it really strong…
“I’d wake up saying the Lord’s prayer, I’m not even joking. I could hear screeching, like a banshee noise in my ears.
“Even today, my dreams are always sort of connected with there, which is strange.
“Someone else must have experienced the same things. I’d like to know more about the history of the house. I thought to myself for a long time, was it ever built on a graveyard, did something strange happen years ago?”
The spooky happenings were most often in the toilet or his childhood bedroom, he said.
“When I was nine or 10 years old, after I would go to the toilet I would run, really run, out of the toilet to the living room,” said Mr Foursons.
“It was like that feeling of walking down the road and knowing someone was walking behind you.
“Lying in bed at night, my bedroom was so cold, you could’ve left ice in there and it wouldn’t have melted. My mum even said it felt like there was a presence in that room and in the flat.”
Once he moved to the downstairs flat he began to see a thick black mist floating across the ceiling out of his bedroom and into the hall.
He said: “I started to see blood spatters on the radiators – these dark maroon splatters. I thought nothing of it the first time. I said to my partner at the time ‘Have you cut yourself?’ And she said no. I would wipe them away, but they’d reappear.”
Mr Foursons wonders if these things are connected to people who lived in the flat previously: “The old lady that lived there before, her husband used to suffer from nosebleeds. I know that because my mum used to go down and help stem the bleeding.”
