Bracelet

A bracelet similar to this one but with a finer chain was a gift to Elle Hollingworth, from her grandmother, Ivy

A WOMAN is desperately hoping for the safe return of a bracelet given to her by a grandmother who died just a fortnight ago.

Elle Hollingworth, from Finsbury Park, realised it was missing when she got to the De Beauvoir Arms pub after a swim at Angel Virgin Active.

The 26-year-old says it was of massive sentimental value as it was one of the last gifts given to her by her special “nana”, Ivy. It was one of the first times she had worn the jewellery outside.

Ms Hollingworth, who helps to put on horticultural events, said: “She didn’t have a lot and that’s why this jewellery is so sentimental – because it was kind of her last gift to us.

“I said mum, ‘I really love this bracelet’ and then afterwards she said to me, ‘I’m so glad you got that because it’s lovely’. She said ‘I remember her wearing it when I was little’. So I know that it has history.

“I would be elated if I got it back, and chuffed to live in an area where people are so kind. It would also mean I could share the story with my mum, who I can’t bring myself to tell at the moment as she’s still so upset.”

Ms Hollingworth’s grandmother, Ivy

Ivy, who lived in Liverpool, was known for her jewellery, which she often gave her three granddaughters over the years.

Ms Hollingworth said: “She never forgot a birthday. She never forgot any major event in your life like if you started a new job, she’d be there at the end of the phone, like, ‘you’re gonna be great’. Or ‘this is a great chapter for you’.”
