Help shape the future of the leisure centre
Friday, 2nd June 2023
• THERE is an opportunity for you to shape the future of the Sobell Leisure Centre.
Here at Islington Council, we are serious about the pledge we made to create a more equal future for everyone.
That runs through everything we do, including our efforts to support and empower local people to enjoy the physical, mental, and social benefits of exercise.
Childhood obesity is a major issue across London, and it’s no different in our borough. We must tackle this, and also ensure that it is easier for people of all backgrounds to stay active.
That’s why we’ve put forward exciting proposals for the future of the Sobell Leisure Centre. From a new, innovative, active zone, to a ninja warrior and inflatable zone, to enhanced boxing, gym and squash facilities, there’s something for everyone.
It’s vital that we maximise the potential of spaces like the Sobell Leisure Centre so that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy the benefits of exercise. If realised our proposals will help achieve that by attracting 250,000 people per year to the site.
You are at the heart of everything we do and we want to ensure the new Sobell meets the needs of the community.
Our public consultation runs until Friday July 7, so find out more about how you can have your say by visiting letstalk.islington.gov.uk
