• WHEN is Islington Council going to reverse its policy of allowing fires on Highbury Fields? To add to the danger from toxic smoke and the devastation of the rural environment we can now include upsetting religious fetes (Shocking barbecues, November 10).

By its very nature the lighting of fires spoils the enjoyment of visiting the Fields for most people. Their views should be respected.
